Make sure your backpack is stocked up because we’re not in the city anymore. Get your rifle and ammo ready, and make sure you set up camp and a fire before the sun goes down…the wolves and bears are hungry and you look like dinner. The Ranger needs some guidance from a skilled outdoorsman, and Gary at the Snowridge Lodge could really use some more game to get him through the rough months. Are you up for the challenge of surviving in the Open Country?

RV, THIS IS YOUR HOME. YOU ARE IN THE WILD NOW!
This is the RV
Rabbit
Rabbits are a social animal, often living in large groups in underground warrens. While more than half of the world’s rabbits live in North America, they are also native to parts of Europe, Southeast Asia, Japan, Sumatra and have recently been introduced to South America. Rabbits are a plentiful source of meat for hunters looking to live off the land.
ELK
The largest of the deer family, Elk roam across the forests of North America and Eastern Asia. Hunting elk is a challenge due to their keen sense of smell and widely spread populations. To capture a multi-pointed buck is a goal of many hunters.
Fox
If you encounter a fox who does not immediately run away, make some noise. Yell, clap your hands, wave your arms, stomp your feet—make your presence felt, but do not approach or chase the animal.
Armadillo
Armadillos are the only living mammal that protects itself with layers of naturally occurring plate armor made of epidermal scales. They subsist primarily on insects and will use their nose to root though gardens, crops and lawns to find something to eat. For this reason, may areas consider them pests and allow them to be hunted throughout the year.
RV
The RV is your reprieve from days out in the Open Country. You can get some rest without worrying about predators trying to eat you, or the harsh winter weather. The RV will also help you jump to different spots on the map on your quest to become a Master Outdoorsman.
Cougar
An ambush predator, cougars will hunt down many different types of animals to feed itself with deer making up the bulk of its diet. Cougars are very territorial and will roam a large area making them difficult prey for a hunter to find.
